Continuing my day at Kew back in August 2014, truant from WorldCon, here is a second batch of photos, selected from the 400 or so I took.
- There was holly everywhere in London, at least at Kew and Greenwich. I especially liked this variegated variety.
- A silvery tree-trunk framed by hollies.
- Kew is on the flight-path for Heathrow. There are always planes overhead.
- I live in a province where Red Oak is native. I had to travel to England to see what a mature one is really meant to look like. Hooray for defoliants and pulp plantations of spruce, eh?
- Lucombe Oak – a hybrid of a Turkey Oak and Cork Oak. A lovely tree with an interesting history.
- A bamboo-shaded path leading to the Japanese house.
- A traditional Japanese house. Looks just like Kaede’s in Inuyasha!
- A Tasmanian snowgum against the sky. Mine will never get this big in its flowerpot.
- E. perriniana (spinning gum) in flower.
